Dates, times and where to see the Reus Costa Daurada Open 500 World Padel Tour
Reus will be the capital of padel for a week. The first ever Open 500 will take place in the Catalan city and will be the first stop on the competitive circuit in Spain. This tournament aims to attract as many people as possible in an edition that promises to be exciting and full of surprises. The competition will begin on Saturday 25th March and will have its final climax on Sunday 2nd April. A total of 108 matches will be played in this Reus Costa Daurada Open 500.
As for the advantages of the new tournament format, the distribution of points will be lower, so the top-ranked couples have not decided not to register. The two pairs will receive 500 official points for each player.
In the men's draw, the new pairings stand out as a result of all the change of cards that has taken place in the last week. The four-time champions Tapia and Coello won't take part in this event after having won as many titles as possible this year on the World Padel Tour. Therefore, there will be new faces on the podium for the first time. Momo Gonzalez and Miguel Yanguas start as top seeds, followed by 'Pincho' Fernandez and Jose Garcia as runners up and Ramiro Moyano and 'Xisco Gil' in third place.
In the women's draw, all the pairings are registered and there will be an all-round spectacle. The absence of Victoria Iglesias and Patty Llaguno due to injury is the most notable absence at the top of the rankings. Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay will do their best to maintain their good run at the expense of their closest rivals in the rankings. Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez, who will be playing at home, will be looking to take matters into their own hands and regain the number 1 ranking they lost in Chile.
The Reus Costa Daurada Open 500 matches can be followed live from the quarter-finals on #Vamos (dial 8 and 50), #Ellas (dial 51) and Movistar Deportes (dial 59). These three channels will broadcast live and in full all matches from the quarter finals onwards.
The morning matches will start at 10:00, while the players playing in the afternoon matches will take their balls to the court at 15:30.
