Premier Padel is the professional tour where the best pairs in the world compete. This guide explains how the tour works, what sets each tournament category apart and how players qualify, and walks through the Premier Padel 2026 schedule with dates, venues and categories, plus a selection of verified results from the season.
What is Premier Padel
Premier Padel is the leading professional tour in world padel and is governed by the International Padel Federation (FIP). It launched in 2022, and its season travels through cities in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa, with both men's and women's draws.
Tournament categories
Tournaments are grouped into categories according to their importance. The higher the category, the more ranking points are on offer and the more prestigious the title:
| Category | What sets it apart |
|---|---|
| Major | The highest-ranked tournaments of the season |
| P1 | The backbone of the calendar, featuring the top-ranked pairs |
| P2 | Lower-tier tournaments that also count towards the ranking |
| Finals | The season-ending event for the best-ranked pairs |
How the ranking and qualification work
The FIP ranking
The points earned at each tournament feed into the FIP ranking, which is individual even though players compete in pairs; that is why two partners often share the same position. The ranking decides which pairs go straight into the main draw and which are seeded. The official, up-to-date ranking is published on the FIP website.
Qualifying and wild cards
Pairs without a high enough ranking to enter the main draw directly play a qualifying round in the first days of the tournament. The organisers can also award wild cards (invitations) to some pairs.
The Premier Padel Finals
The Finals close the season and bring together the best-ranked pairs of the year. In 2026 they are played in Barcelona from 10 to 13 December.
The Star Point
Since 2026 the tour has used the Star Point, a game-scoring system approved by the FIP General Assembly on 28 November 2025 and first used at the opening event of the season, the Riyadh Season P1.
