Di Nenno and Stupaczuk conquer Qatar Major Premier Padel
Qatar was dressed up to welcome the best players on the international padel scene. All the players put on their dinner jackets after the WPT Abu Dhabi to take to the courts again with a single purpose at the Ooredo Qatar Major Premier Padel. The first golden padel bats were waiting for their owners. Now with their names stamped on it, Stupa and Di Nenno have lit up the Premier Padel walk of fame with their resurrection as a couple. Time, like good wine, has only affected the 'Superpibes' in an extremely positive way.
The competition kicked off with the qualifying rounds, which would reveal the final draw on Tuesday the 28th. The favourites set the tone and there were a few surprises. After a Friday with few surprises, the semifinals came with equality. Momo and Alex Ruiz, after beating the number ones, almost reached the final. Bela and Sanyo avoided it in a thrilling third set. On the other side of the draw, Di Nenno and Stupa overcame a Coello-Tapia team that faded in the match.
After two matches lasting more than two hours each, the final could only be a gateway to history. The fight for the trophy was tinged with albiceleste for the first time in the history of the Premier. The 'Superpibes' hardly gave their arm a twist. In the first set they were solid and decisive in every point, closing with a convincing 6-2. The second was another story. The old school wanted to show their best padel and took them to the tiebreak. Sanyo and Bela's experience could have made the difference, but a superb Di Nenno didn't want to allow it. The MVP of the final sentenced with an exemplary last point.
In this way, after only dropping one set in the whole tournament, they took their blades to the skies of Qatar. 8 years later, the 'Superpibes' returned to do what they love so much. The taste of victory. Premier Padel already has its first champions of 2023. Qatar stood up to recognise the resurgence of the two youngsters in a more mature and complete state.
